About Feyisola
Feyisola Ogunfemi is a Christian, which to her means that her mission in life is to serve God and to use her gifts to help and touch people while on earth.
Feyisola was born in New York and raised in New Jersey by her two parents. She went to school in New Jersey until she was twelve years old and began attending boarding school in Ogun State, Nigeria. This was one of the most defining experiences in her life and she learned to be independent and discovered her technical expertise through her science based curriculum. She completed her high school education in New Jersey before moving on to the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences at the University of Pennsylvania.
While at UPenn, Feyisola majored in Computer Science Engineering and minored in Engineering Entrepreneurship. During those four years, she served in multiple leadership roles in six different student groups, eventually becoming the president of both the UPenn Chapter of the National Society of Black Engineers(NSBE) and the Engineering Student Activities Council (ESAC) as well as being inducted to Onyx Senior Honor Society. Through all of these activities, she found a deep desire to give back to her community and a passion for leading initiatives that created new things.
Currently, Feyisola channels both her creative and technical gifts to touch others through her event planning practice, Statuesque Events by Feyisola. She balances this with her role as an analyst at consulting firm as well as her coursework towards a certificate in Meeting, Conference and Event Management at New York University. Outside of work, she volunteers her time as the President of the NYC XL Alumni Extension Chapter of NSBE, the Parliamentarian of the Region 1 Alumni Extension Board of NSBE and an Activities Coordinator at her church, CAC 1st in the Americas. She also is a past pageant queen, Miss Nigerian Independence 2009-2010 and founded the Afripreneurs of Tomorrow Scholarship Ball, formerly known as the Miss Nigerian Independence Scholarship Ball. She remains a very driven and involved woman, and always looks for opportunities to give back to Nigeria, Africa and members of the diaspora. Her ultimate life goal is to establish herself such that she can eventually devote her life to community service and ministry.
